After bidding our friends at Hotel Candiani a bittersweet farewell, our band of merry travelers (with the help of our patient driver Massimo) boarded the bus for Stresa. The drive along beautiful Lago Maggiore brought us to the 4-star Hotel la Palma, situated mere steps from the lake. The rest of the day was free-time and many members of the group had some interesting activities from traveling to the top of the funicular route to enjoying an aperitivo in the spacious hotel lobby (complete with a visit from Whiskey, the resident Golden Retriever).
