A Taste of Campania at Due Lire

La Cena Napoletana • November 12th

Sentieri Italiani and about 40 friends filled Due Lire Vino & Cucina in Chicago’s Lincoln Square for an evening of delicious food, southern-style. Grazie to owner Massimo di Vuolo and staff for giving us an opportunity to experience an authentic taste of the cuisine of Naples. Our group dined family-style and heartily enjoyed all of our dishes. (The gnocchi were as light as feathers and I think that I may have tasted the best-meatball-ever-in-my-life at Due Lire!!)

Pictured below are Daniela and Massimo discussing the heavy usage of tomatoes in Naples as well as the different interpretations an Italian from the north vs. one from the south might have for the phrase “Vedi Napoli e poi muori.”
